Profile and settings
Home shows a short setup checklist the first time you open Pedalsim: set your weight and FTP, pair a trainer, add a route and ride it. Everything below lives in Settings.
Rider profile
Your weight and height drive the physics: a heavier rider needs more power on a climb, and a taller one catches more wind. Your FTP, the power you can hold for about an hour, sets how hard workout targets are and every training-load figure. Add your threshold, maximum and resting heart rate for heart rate zones.
Not sure of your FTP? Ride one of the FTP tests. When a ride shows you can hold more than your FTP, Pedalsim offers to update it.
Zones
Power zones come from your FTP and heart rate zones from your maximum and resting heart rate. Drag a boundary to override it, and reset it whenever you like.
How climbs feel
Trainer difficulty sets how much of a hill's real steepness the trainer pushes back with. Lower makes climbs noticeably lighter than outside; higher makes them feel close to, or as hard as, the real road.
Weekly goals
Set a weekly distance, time or climbing target, and Home tracks your progress towards it, along with your streak of weeks in a row and how this week compares with your average.
Moving your bike
Your position on the map carries over from ride to ride. To start somewhere else without riding there, use Move your bike: jump to a point on one of your routes, drop a pin, or search for a place. Pedalsim puts you on the nearest road, and you can draw a new route from there.
Units, map cache and the rest
- Units: metric or imperial for distance, speed and elevation.
- Map cache: map tiles you have seen are kept on the device, so maps load faster on a weak connection. Set its size or clear it.
- Multiplayer profile: your name, flag and picture, and whether you ride with others.
- Training plan: reminders, daily food targets and your preferred FTP test, for plans.
- Connected apps: connect or disconnect Strava.
- Server mode: lets other apps on your device or network read your live ride, such as power, heart rate and position, for overlays and your own tools.
Subscription and account
Manage or cancel your subscription in Settings. If you cancel, you keep full access until the end of the period you paid for, then Pedalsim goes back to the free 20 km a week, and you can resume any time before then. See pricing for the plans.
