Android TV, Google TV and Fire TV

An indoor cycling app for your TV

Ride on the biggest screen in the house. Pedalsim runs on Android TV, Google TV and Fire TV, connects your smart trainer straight to the TV over Bluetooth, and shows the road ahead in 3D. No laptop or phone needed.

Which TVs work

TVs and streaming sticks running Android TV or Google TV, such as Sony, Philips, TCL and Hisense TVs, the Chromecast with Google TV, the Nvidia Shield, and Amazon Fire TV sticks and TVs. The TV needs Bluetooth, which almost all of them have.

Install

  1. On the TV, open pedalsim.com/downloads in a browser or a downloader app and download the Android app. It is the same app as for phones and tablets.
  2. Install it. The TV may ask you to allow installs from unknown sources first.
  3. Open Pedalsim from the TV's home screen and sign in with the code sent to your email.

Riding with the remote

Everything works with the arrow keys and the select button on your remote, and the TV gets the same large layout as a computer. Plan your routes on your phone or computer if you prefer: your routes, rides and progress are the same on every device.

Connecting your trainer

Your trainer, heart rate strap and Zwift Click connect to the TV over Bluetooth, just like on a phone. Keep the trainer within a few metres of the TV for a steady connection. Any Bluetooth smart trainer from Wahoo, Tacx, Elite, Saris and most other brands works. ANT+ is not supported.

The 3D map on a TV

The 3D map works on TVs too. Streaming sticks are less powerful than a computer, so leave Quality on Auto in Settings and Pedalsim finds the level that runs smoothly. More in the 3D world.
