Riding outside
The Ride outside card on Home opens a bike computer that records your ride with GPS and your own sensors.
Sensors and screens
Outdoor sensors (power meter, heart rate strap, cadence sensor) are paired on their own, so you never re-pair between the trainer and your bike. Swipe between screens while you ride and long-press a field to change it. The second screen is a map.
Start, pause and lost signal
Recording can start by itself above a speed you choose and pause when you stop. If GPS drops out, the bike computer carries on for a short while and shows GPS lost. If the app closes mid-ride, Pedalsim offers to continue, save or discard the ride next time.
Routes and workouts
Follow a route from your library for the distance to go and an Off route warning. Workouts and today's planned session ride as power targets, so they need a power meter.
Friends on their trainers
Open the menu, choose Live riding and switch on Show me to other riders. While you record, riders indoors on nearby roads see you at your real position on their map, and you see them on yours. It is off by default, because it shows where you are.
Your start and finish stay private
Around where this ride started and where your last rides started and ended, other riders cannot see you. Choose a radius of 200, 500 or 1000 m in the same sheet.
Saving
End the ride and save it like any other. It goes to Strava and intervals.icu if you have connected them, and a ride saved without signal is sent once you are back online.
