What Pedalsim does

Any road, anywhere

Draw a route on the map on any continent, import a GPX file, or pick one of 61 famous routes, from Alpe d'Huez to Paris-Roubaix.

Real hills, real wind

Your trainer gets harder on every climb and easier on every descent, and the wind is the live weather where the road really is.

A living 3D world

The real place from above in 3D: mountains, forests and towns, cars and people in the streets, animals in the fields, day and night, and every season.

Ride in stages

Ride across a country over weeks. Stop whenever you like, and the next ride carries on from exactly the same spot.

Ride with others

Other riders on nearby roads appear on your map as they ride, indoors on a trainer or outside on the road. Pick the same route as your friends and ride together, free on every plan.

Training that adapts

Set a goal and get a day-by-day plan with your real odds of reaching it. Workouts follow your heart rate, so a tired day is an easier day.

The 3D world

The real place, alive around you

On the 3D map you see where you are really riding: the mountain you are climbing, the forest beside the road and the town ahead. And it is not empty.

More about the 3D world
  1. Traffic and people

Cars, buses and trucks drive the roads and people walk the pavements, busiest in big towns and quiet at night.

  2. Animals where they really live

Deer and foxes in Europe, kangaroos in Australia, cows in the fields and flocks of geese on their way south.

  3. Day, night and the seasons

The sun sets at the real time. Autumn turns the trees, and winter brings snow, or pick any date you like.

Riding outside

Take it outside, and keep your friends

Pedalsim is a bike computer for the road too. Ride outside with your own sensors, and friends on their trainers see you on their map as you go.

More about riding outside
  1. A bike computer that knows your sensors

GPS speed, distance and climbing next to your power, heart rate and cadence, on screens you arrange yourself.

  2. Friends join from their trainers

Switch on sharing and riders indoors see you at your real position on their map while you record.

  3. Your front door stays private

Sharing is off until you turn it on, and the start and end of your rides are hidden.

Training plans

A plan built around your goal and your week

Tell Pedalsim what you want to achieve and how much time you have. It builds the plan most likely to get you there and tells you honestly how likely that is.

How training plans work
  1. A goal you can measure

A higher FTP, a faster time up Alpe d'Huez, or finishing your first sportive.

  2. Sessions that listen to your body

Every session checks how fresh you are and sets its effort from your heart rate on the day.

  3. Life happens, the plan adapts

Miss a day, fall ill or go away, and the plan rearranges itself around you.

How it works

  1. Pick a road

Tap points on the map and Pedalsim follows real roads between them, anywhere on earth. Or choose a famous route.

  2. Connect your trainer

Pedalsim finds your smart trainer and heart rate strap over Bluetooth and remembers them for next time.

  3. Ride, stop, carry on

Your trainer follows the road's hills as you ride. Stop whenever you like: next time you carry on from the same spot.

Common questions

What is Pedalsim?

Pedalsim is an indoor cycling app. You pick a road anywhere on earth, draw it on the map or choose a famous route, and ride it on your smart trainer, which gets harder on the real climbs and easier on the descents, with the live wind where the road is. You can ride it in 3D, with the real landscape, traffic, wildlife, day and night and the seasons around you, and follow training plans that adapt to you.

Is Pedalsim free?

Yes, up to 20 km of riding in any 7 days, with no expiry and no card needed. Each ride counts for 7 days, then its distance frees up again. Unlimited riding and full training plans cost 12.99 USD a month or 99.99 USD a year.

Is there a discount for staying subscribed?

Yes. Annual subscribers get a loyalty discount on every renewal: 10% off after one year, 15% after two and 20% from three years on, on top of any founding price. It starts over if the subscription lapses.

Which smart trainers work with Pedalsim?

Almost every Bluetooth smart trainer from the last few years, including Wahoo, Tacx, Elite, Saris and most other brands. They use a standard called Bluetooth FTMS: if your trainer connects to the well-known training apps over Bluetooth, it works with Pedalsim. Pedalsim uses Bluetooth only; ANT+ is not supported.
