An indoor cycling app that runs natively on Linux
No Wine, no Proton, no virtual machine. Pedalsim ships a native x64 Linux build that pairs your smart trainer over Bluetooth and rides real roads with their real gradient.
Install
- Download the Linux build from the downloads page. It is a .tar.gz archive.
- Extract it anywhere, for example
tar -xzf pedalsim-linux-*.tar.gz. - Run
./pedalsim_appfrom the extracted folder.
The app uses GTK 3, BlueZ for Bluetooth and libsecret to keep you signed in. Desktop distributions such as Ubuntu, Fedora and Debian usually have all three installed already.
Bluetooth
Pedalsim talks to your trainer through BlueZ, the standard Linux Bluetooth stack. Make sure Bluetooth is on and the trainer is not connected to another app, then scan from the sensor pairing screen. It pairs any smart trainer that supports Bluetooth FTMS, plus Bluetooth power meters, heart rate straps and speed and cadence sensors. ANT+ is not supported.
Or use the browser
The web app at app.pedalsim.com runs in Chrome or Edge on Linux and pairs a trainer through Web Bluetooth, with nothing to install. Firefox does not support Web Bluetooth.

Your routes, rides and progress sync between Linux, Windows, Android and the web, so you can plan on one and ride on another.
