What the climb is like

The lower half up to Méribel is a regular Alpine climb. Above the resort the road turns into a narrow cycle path across the ski slopes, and the gradient changes all the time, with short walls above 20 percent in the last kilometres where the air is thin.

How to ride it in Pedalsim

Col de la Loze is one of the built-in Pedalsim routes: open it from the button below, or under Pedalsim routes in the app, and ride. Your trainer reproduces every change in its gradient as you climb, and the wind is the live weather at the climb, so a headwind on an exposed section feels like one.

On the 3D map you see the real mountain around you, with its forests, villages and the road winding up ahead, in the season and light of the day you ride. It is on Windows, Android, Linux and the web.

Hold something back for the final four kilometres. The irregular gradient there breaks any rhythm, so shift often and ride by power, not by feel.

Figures are approximate: sources measure the climb from slightly different points.
